Do you enjoy walking together and have a bond with young people with disabilities? Then we are looking for you!
Description
For 'adolescent group' the Uitvliegers (part of KDC de Vlieger), which is accommodated at day care location Middelséhiem in Westeinde, we are looking for someone who would like to go for a walk every Friday from 10am to about 12pm, together with the counsellors. It concerns young people aged 13 to 18.
By getting out and about with the youngsters, you expand their world and meanwhile you yourself can enjoy the great outdoors and beautiful surroundings.
What does the organisation offer the volunteer?
After the first meeting with the group, you have a cup of coffee or tea together and if there is a good click from both sides, a VOG is applied for and a volunteer contract is drawn up. You will then be insured during your voluntary work, you will also receive a Christmas package and a gift on Care Day. In addition, you will receive the volunteer newsletter and, if applicable, you will be entitled to a travel allowance.
What does the organisation ask of the volunteer?
Young people are not road-safe and some require specific handling. To ensure their safety, it is therefore important that the instructions of the supervisor are always followed. In addition, it is desirable that you are physically capable of actively walking with young people by hand or pushing a wheelchair and it is nice if you have a bond with the target group.
