Living Room Project Leeuwarden seeks volunteers!

Would you like to offer children, on a weekly basis, a fun, cosy and warm place? Then read on quickly and who knows, we might get acquainted soon! We, neighbourhood team Centrum Oost in Leeuwarden, are looking for volunteers for the living room project. The living room project is still in the development phase and involves one or more living rooms in the Centrum-Oost area. These living rooms will be created for children of primary school age and will be a place where sociability and attention are central. There is a range of activities they can take part in that we organise in cooperation with voluntary organisations. Activities include crafts, playing games, book reading, reading aloud and homework help. And there are workshops, such as dancing, kickboxing and cooking/baking. To develop and eventually implement these, volunteers are in demand.

We are therefore looking for volunteers who will help think things through during the development phase, make plans and liaise with cooperation partners such as schools. Subsequently, the living room will be open about two half-days a week (1 half-day is already known and that is Tuesday afternoon at Tjalkstraat 5, community centre It Skiphus), for which volunteers are needed to receive the children, develop and supervise activities, prepare the living room, tidy up and close it.

The project is still in its infancy, so you are welcome to think along and share your knowledge to achieve a beautiful end result. In addition, you will be among people, meet new people and, above all, have a good time with lots of happy children's faces.

We are looking for individuals who are available on afternoons from 2pm to 4.30pm. It is important that you can work independently, are naturally overweight, flexible and creative.
