Social worker for status holders
Description
Imagine finding yourself in a foreign country where you don't speak the language and don't know your way around. Where the rules are different and public transport or healthcare don't work the way you're used to. How nice it would be if someone could show you the ropes in this new world, so that you could feel at home in your new surroundings.
Amaryllis is seeking social workers on short notice to assist status holders during their initial period in Leeuwarden, where so much is new to them.
From 1 January, Amaryllis will be responsible for providing social support to status holders who come to live in Leeuwarden. We support them with housing (furnishing and administrative matters) and helping them find their way around their village or neighbourhood. To this end, we are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are willing to commit at least two half-days per week to helping these people. In order to provide the right support, we want to offer status holders continuity and are therefore looking for support workers who are willing to commit to our organisation for at least one year.
Your tasks may vary from practical administrative matters to spending extended periods of time with a status holder and his or her family as a buddy. We also have work for people who enjoy leading groups or providing information. In short, there is plenty to do!
Are you interested? Then please contact us. Together, we will look at what best suits your knowledge, interests and capabilities.
What does the organisation offer the volunteer?
You will be part of a committed and motivated team of volunteers. We also offer support from a professional, an induction programme, the opportunity to take additional (online) courses and training, reimbursement of expenses and, above all, exciting and meaningful volunteer work!
