About COC Friesland
COC Friesland is committed to an inclusive society where everyone - regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression or gender characteristics - can be themselves. We provide information, organise activities, and represent the interests of the rainbow community. As a regional branch of the national COC, we are active throughout the province of Friesland.
The function
As a communications volunteer, you will work with the social media team and the office manager on the visibility and positioning of COC Friesland. You will ensure that our message is clear, attractive and up-to-date - both online and offline.
What will you do?
- Coordinate and/or write posts for our social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok, LinkedIn).
- Contribute to the newsletter and draft press releases.
- Monitor the communication style and house style of the association.
- Support campaigns, events and public actions.
- Thinking about strategy around visibility and advocacy.
- Being a sparring partner for the board in the field of communications.
- Identify relevant developments in society and media that affect the rainbow community.

What does the organisation ask of the volunteer?
- Affinity with COC's mission and eager to engage with the rainbow community.
- Proven experience in communications, media and/or (online) campaigns.
- Strong in writing accessible, appealing and targeted texts.
- Has an understanding of social issues and the importance of good advocacy.
- Being creative and showing initiative.
- Can work well collaboratively and independently.
- Available for around 4 hours a week (sometimes more around campaigns or events).
