Host/Hostess

Through your work, you will contribute to our mission of continuing to give older people the opportunity to celebrate life and get out and about with others.

As a hostess or host of Celebrate Life, you will accompany up to 3 elderly people to a performance at a time.
This could include a performance at theatre de Koornbeurs in Franeker or at Stadsschouwburg de Harmonie in Leeuwarden.
The offer for participants is very diverse. For instance, we also offer outings to various museums, national musicals and go to the movies at film house Slieker every third Thursday afternoon of the month.

Participating elderly people are personally picked up by you, accompanied during the performance and brought back home after the show.
During the outing, you will provide a supportive arm and warm sociability needed to enjoy a wonderful afternoon or evening together.

To perform your role as host/host successfully, you have an affinity with the elderly, are open and approachable and listen sincerely to the other person.
Furthermore, you have a great sense of responsibility and are proactive.
You are in possession of a valid driving licence and 5-door car (due to a possible walker).

We are currently mainly looking for volunteers from the surrounding villages of Leeuwarden, such as Stiens, Grou and Akkrum.
