Educators COC Friesland
Description
Do you know all about sexual and gender diversity? Do you like to share your story of experience to help others? And do you think it is important that everyone should be able to be themselves? Then providing information for COC Friesland is for you!
Who are we?
COC Friesland is there for the LGBT+ community in Friesland. Besides organising fun activities and meeting groups like Jong&Out, Expreszo and Rozee, we also actively educate about sexual and gender diversity. We do so by giving guest lectures in primary, secondary and vocational schools. And providing training to professionals in education, care and business. In this way, we try to increase knowledge and encourage a positive and open attitude.
What will you do?
As an educator, you discuss sexual and gender diversity and explain everything related to it. Sometimes for a group of students, sometimes for a team of professionals. It all depends on what kind of request comes in and how your (professional) background fits in. Or that of a fellow educator, because educating is something you do together. Furthermore, sharing a story of experience about your gender and/or sexual orientation is an important part of the education you provide. Count on genuine interest and valuable (group) discussions about the experiences your story evokes in others.
Do you want to get started as an information officer? Let us hear from you via voorlichting@cocfriesland.nl, we are constantly looking for new information officers. We will be happy to tell you more in an introductory meeting. You will also be given the opportunity to take part in a trial run, so that you can experience whether providing information is really something for you.
