When a loved one goes to GGZ Friesland for treatment or admission, it is often a major event. First and foremost for the person in question, of course, but also for the family, relatives and others close to them. It is therefore crucial to give a voice to family members and other people close to them and that is exactly what the Family Council of GGZ Friesland does. To continue doing this important work, our Family Council is looking for additional members; a chairman, members for the executive committee and general members. Our Family Council consists of people who are members from different considerations. Possibly you have a loved one in care, but even if this is not the case and you think cooperation with loved ones in care is important, we would like to welcome you to our council. Would you like to contribute ideas and discuss policy issues, advise GGZ Friesland on these issues and stand up for the collective interests of patients' families and caregivers? A Neighbourhood Service Point is a low-threshold drop-in point where residents can go for all questions regarding living, working and welfare. This may include advice and information in the field of the WMO, help in filling in forms, handling letters from the government, help with administration and in the field of benefits and income-enhancing measures and where referrals are made to other welfare organisations. There is cooperation with the social neighbourhood teams. Walk-in consultations are held at around 12 locations of the social neighbourhood teams in Leeuwarden. We are looking for new volunteer client advisers for the neighbourhood service points in Leeuwarden's districts. Client advisers support residents with their questions in all kinds of areas. This includes activities such as providing support when applying for benefits and allowances.

Working together to create a safe school where everyone can be themselves? Become a GSA Coordinator! Every student deserves a place where they feel safe and accepted, exactly as they are. In many schools, GSAs (Gender & Sexuality Alliances) make this possible. A GSA is a group of students committed to creating an inclusive school culture, where everyone feels at home. They organise inspiring activities such as Coming Out Day and Purple Friday and invite speakers and educators to raise awareness. In Friesland, too, there are schools where GSAs are active and we support this by offering them a focal point in the form of a GSA coordinator! The GSA coordinators support the GSAs with their actions and they organise (possibly in cooperation with COC Netherlands) regional GSA days for the GSAs to come together to exchange knowledge and experiences. They can also offer students support when there are difficulties in starting a GSA or, for example, in arranging gender-diverse toilets, by talking to the teacher and/or the school administration. We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to support GSAs in Friesland. Currently, the position has not been actively filled for quite some time. This means that there is a lot of room for your own ideas and little on the shelf. Of course, you are not alone - other volunteers will offer you all the advice and guidance you need to get started.
