Online session Social Safety

Do you think it is important that everyone in your organisation feels safe and seen? Inappropriate behaviour occurs everywhere, but fortunately there is a lot you can do to prevent it.

Would you like to get involved in social safety as a (volunteer) board member or coordinator within your volunteer organisation, association or foundation? Or are you planning to become a confidential advisor? If so, we can organise an inspirational session on social safety especially for you.

For whom.
This inspirational session is intended for board members, coordinators of volunteer organisations, volunteers and those involved in associations and foundations.

In a maximum of 1.5 hours, we will guide you through the process of making your volunteer organisation, association, or foundation safer.

Topics covered:

  • How do you make your organisation secure?
  • What is required for this?
  • How do you communicate this within your organisation?
  • How do you create support?
  • How do you keep each other on your toes?
  • Practical information

You will receive the Teams link upon registration. Please participate via laptop or desktop (break-out rooms do not work well via phone or iPad). This inspiration session will be given by Nienke Dekkinga from VolunteeringNL.

About Nienke Dekkinga
As a social safety expert at VrijwilligerswerkNL, I provide training on preventing and discussing transgressive behaviour and train volunteers to become a Confidential Contact Person. Volunteer organisations can contact me with questions on applying for and securing the free VOG and setting up appropriate preventive policies. I am also associated with NOC*NSF as a trainer, training VCPs. Practical applicability is central to all my work. I help organisations set up policies, codes of conduct and conversations in such a way that social safety is not a one-off project but a permanent part of daily practice.
