Children's holiday weeks
There are children for whom going on holiday is not a matter of course, for whatever reason. For these children, Humanitas organises children's holiday weeks in the summer. The children enjoy a wonderful week together, full of fun, adventure, relaxation, sports and games. It is just as much a fantastic experience for the volunteers! 

The children from Leeuwarden go to Camping farm 't Hoefijzer in Zwiggelte and Green camping farm in Oudermirdum. Every week, between 30 and 40 children participate. The groups are divided by age. Supervision is provided by a team of 14-16 volunteers who divide the tasks among themselves. The children are picked up and dropped off, so no personal transport is required.

The classification by age: 

• Sunday 13 to Friday 18 July I Zwiggelte I children aged 11–12
• Monday 14 to Saturday 19 July I Oudemirdum I children aged 9-10
• Monday 21st to Saturday 26th July I Oudemirdum I children aged 6–8 

For children who require extra support, for example due to autism or ADHD, there is a separate week. This week is called SUMMER CARE and takes place from 18 August to 22 August in Oudemirdum. More information on the Summer Care

Registration and intake interview 
Would you like to register one or more children? Fill in the digital application form. Pre-registration Children's holiday weeks or summer childcare. 

After registration, a volunteer conducts an intake interview with the parent and child. The volunteer provides information about the Children's Holiday Weeks and answers questions from the parent and child. They also discuss the child's needs and whether the Children's Holiday Weeks are a suitable place for the child.

Our holiday weeks are organised safely and securely. Volunteers are expertly supervised and work according to the quality standards of the Quality Mark Children's Holiday Weeks.
