There are children for whom going on holiday is not a matter of course, for whatever reason. For these children, Humanitas organises children's holiday weeks in the summer. The children enjoy a wonderful week together, full of fun, adventure, relaxation, sports and games. It is just as much a fantastic experience for the volunteers! 

The children from Leeuwarden go to Camping farm 't Hoefijzer in Zwiggelte and Green camping farm in Oudermirdum. Every week, between 30 and 40 children participate. The groups are divided by age. Supervision is provided by a team of 14-16 volunteers who divide the tasks among themselves. The children are picked up and dropped off, so no personal transport is required.

For children aged 8 to 12 who need extra attention, we organise a separate week; summer care. This week is supervised by volunteers who have a lot of experience with this target group.

Registration and intake interview

You can also call the secretariat 058-2666608 I Monday to Thursday from 9am-12pm. We will then contact you for an introductory interview.

After registration, a volunteer conducts an intake interview with the parent and child. The volunteer provides information about the Children's Holiday Weeks and answers questions from the parent and child. They also discuss the child's needs and whether the Children's Holiday Weeks are a suitable place for the child.

Our holiday weeks are organised safely and securely. Volunteers are expertly supervised and work according to the quality standards of the Quality Mark Children's Holiday Weeks.
