Dekema State
Dekema State is a stately country house located just north of Leeuwarden. Today, the state is a museum and furnished as if the residents were briefly away in the 1930s. The museum displays everything these imaginary residents might have laid out and put down in the rooms, from clothes and furniture to paintings and utensils. Numerous stinze plants adorn the garden around the house and various fruits and vegetables are grown.
Visitors can walk around the house and garden independently or take a guided tour. Educational activities are also organised for children and school classes. In the garden, there is a coffee and tea shop and products grown on the historic state are sold (including jam).
