Board member Animal shelter and animal ambulance the Wissel

The Wissel Animal Shelter and Animal Ambulance Foundation takes in hundreds of strays or relinquished pets every year. The Wissel also runs a cat boarding house and two animal ambulances. Animal ambulance the Wissel drives for injured, dead or stray animals in the municipality of Leeuwarden.

Animal Shelter and Animal Ambulance the Wissel is a not-for-profit organisation and depends on donors, sponsors, funds and legacies for its finances, in addition to contributions from municipalities to carry out their statutory duties. The Wissel employs eight staff and around 100 volunteers.

The Wissel's foundation board is tasked with shaping its objectives and organisation. It represents the Wissel in social life.

Board members of the Wissel each have their own area of focus. The Wissel is developing rapidly, with several new projects on the horizon.

- Space for developing your talent and room for your own initiative

On the board, everyone has his/her own expertise and we like to make use of the talent you bring. The exact duties will be determined in consultation with you.

The board meets every month.

Animal Shelter and Animal Ambulance the Wissel Foundation is an ANBI foundation. Board members therefore receive no remuneration for their board duties. However, any expenses and travel costs are reimbursed.
