Green Doers team Vrijheidswijk
Description
A green neighbourhood, what could that look like? Play nature; places where we can meet and learn from and about nature; fewer tiles and more (native) flowers and plants in façade and tree gardens; space for bees and butterflies to spread through the neighbourhood; protection against heat, drought, and flooding and more health and connection through the greenery around us. Can you see this for yourself? Or do you ever think about what an urban environment could look like if we gave nature more space?
In collaboration with the Neighbourhood Team and Buurkracht, we are investigating who would like to join a team of Green Doers in the Vrijheidswijk. To brighten up the streetscape with green tree pits, façade gardens and other great ideas we come up with together. That way, we can enjoy more nature in the neighbourhood ourselves in spring and help bumblebees, solitary bees, caterpillars, beetles and butterflies find a habitat.
What does the organisation offer the volunteer?
Want to help, or think along? Then get in touch with us! Doing green together works as a bond. Green knowledge is not necessary, a bit of interest and motivation is enough. We learn from nature and from each other!
We will make something beautiful together:
- Sharing knowledge;
- Inspiring and fun meetings;
- Creating green and flowery streetscapes in our neighbourhood!
What does the organisation ask of the volunteer?
Initially, we sit down together to work out our ideas, then we move on to action. We involve the neighbourhood, housing association and/or municipality.
Action involves getting to work on greening, for example sowing tree beds or planting façade gardens. How often we do this we can decide and schedule.
