Humanitas is looking for family buddies!

Humanitas Leeuwarden is a voluntary organisation that aims to help people who cannot manage on their own. Based on humanistic values, Humanitas provides services through various people-to-people activities and projects that contribute to increasing everyone's livelihood. We connect people to each other without making distinctions in origin, religion or culture. Working with volunteers and volunteering gives great satisfaction and appreciation.

If you are a parent or educator and would like to support a family in parenting, we are looking for you! Parents want the best for their children and try to care for them as best they can. In practice, this does not always go smoothly, as every parent knows. Then it is nice to share your experience with another parent/guardian. Not everyone has a network where this is possible, which is why we are looking for you. A family buddy visits a family every week. The parents themselves indicate where they want support and often ask for a listening ear, joint attention for the children, help with questions of upbringing or practical issues. You provide support based on your own experience as parent/educator and the contact is equal. Humanitas Leeuwarden supports families with light parenting questions as well as families in which professional assistance is also involved.

Meaningful volunteering, basic training for supporting families, joint meetings with volunteers to share experience and gain knowledge, various online training courses and support from your coordinator.

You are a parent/educator yourself and are available to visit a family for a few hours a week for a year. Men, women, 50/60-plussers also welcome.
