Working group member activities nature and sustainability
Description
The activities working group organises excursions, workshops, lectures in the field of nature and sustainability. The activities are open to both IVN members and non-members. The target group is usually adults and sometimes an activity is also suitable for families or the disabled.
In addition to the aforementioned activities, new ones are also welcome. Think of a movie night, bike ride, mindfull walk, litter clean-up, etc.
Sita Bakker is coordinator of the working group. Working group member Esther Dijkstra stops organising activities for the time being, but can help induction/advice.
DO YOU HAVE A CLICK WITH NATURE and want to help people experience how fun, educational, healthy and important nature is?
Then join the working group and organise the activities that interest you and that you want to put on the map! You are usually present at the activity yourself, so you meet other nature lovers and get the chance to experience nature and learn a thing or two.
- There is a script with agreements, tips, preconditions and all kinds of things to think about
- Tips for an activity are given to you by department members, your coordinator, board members or you go exploring on your own.
- You arrange a speaker, excursion leader, sometimes also a room. You write an advertising text and look for suitable photos for the IVN website, annual programme booklet, digital newsletter, social media, sometimes also local media. If necessary, you make a poster and distribute it at locations suitable for the topic. You sometimes mail invitations for your activity to organisations suitable for the topic.
- You arrange sign-ups and, if relevant, a carpool. (for lectures, dbieb arranges the registrations)
- You will make a (photo) report of the activity for publication in the newsletter/social media or ask someone from the participants to do so.
- Ultimate participant numbers should be reported to the secretary.
- All this rule from behind your own PC/laptop and at times that suit you best.
An IVN membership is not required for this volunteer position.

What does the organisation offer the volunteer?
- We offer consultation moments, a script with tips to get you started, sample texts, sample posters, etc.
- The volunteer will receive an annual gift voucher from the departmental administration on the national volunteer day in December
- Support from the national IVN with use and exchange of ideas, materials, interest groups on the intranet, free courses for volunteers both online and in the province.
- Reimbursement for travel and any other expenses.
- Contact moments with other department volunteers
- Free participation in the annual provincial nature volunteer day Grien Goud
What does the organisation ask of the volunteer?
What we not asking is a lot of knowledge about nature. What we do ask is a 'click' with/interest in nature and enthusiasm.
We will help you get started and then we ask that you perform your tasks independently in consultation with the coordinator.
Some experience/handiness with editing in Word and processing digital photos is helpful.
