Volunteer coordinator Language buddies

Are you looking for volunteer work that inspires? Would you like to mean something to non-Dutch speakers and support volunteers in their role? Do you have an affinity with the Dutch language, are you open to new cultures and do you like working independently? Then this is the perfect place for you!

What will you do?
As volunteer coordinator, you are the connecting link between volunteers and participants. You make sure everyone gets the right support and work to ensure a successful match.

Your duties:
Conducting intake interviews with volunteers and participants
Matching participants with the right volunteer
Guiding volunteers during their pairing
Maintain administration and progress records
You will work flexibly approximately 8 hours per week, partly from home or at the office

About Language buddies
Since July 2024, Humanitas Leeuwarden East has launched Taalmaatjes. Volunteers help one-to-one non-native speakers improve their Dutch speaking skills. By having conversations, for example in preparation for a doctor's visit, or by undertaking activities together, newcomers learn the Dutch language in a playful way.
