For 'adolescent group' de Uitvliegers (part of KDC de Vlieger), which is accommodated at day care location Middelséhiem in Westeinde, we are looking for someone who would like to go for a walk on Fridays from 10 am to about 12 pm, together with the permanent employee(s). This concerns a group (2 to 4) of young people aged 13 to 18. By going out with the young people, you enlarge their environment and you can enjoy the fresh air and beautiful surroundings yourself in the meantime.

Do you want to offer children and parents a warm, cosy and safe place where they can meet? Then we are looking for you! District team Centrum- Oost in Leeuwarden is looking for enthusiastic volunteers for the Parent & Child Café. The Parent & Child Café is an accessible meeting place for parents and children. Every fortnight we organise a cosy afternoon where meeting, relaxation and attention are central. Among other things, we organise: Craft activities Playing games together Creative and sports workshops Visit to the library Visit to the fire brigade From welfare organisation Amaryllis, Liselotte, Della Bella and Inge are involved. In addition, two permanent volunteers are currently active. To further strengthen and expand the café, we are looking for additional support.

Duo cycling is only possible as a duo...will you cycle with me?

A 44-year-old woman with Down syndrome is looking for a volunteer who would like to do something fun with her once in a while, such as walking in the wheelchair or cycling on the duo-bike. With support, of course. Ms does not speak or understand spoken language, but as soon as she knows and trusts someone, she visibly shows it. Preference is given to evenings and weekends. During the day, Ms is off to day care. But in consultation I am sure we can make good arrangements.

With a quiet and reliable buddy beside him, he enjoys exploring new places by bike, exercising with public transport, walking, taking a spin on the pillion bike or participating in fun local activities. He is relaxed in conversations and enjoys talking about anything and everything together. As he likes to look for a quiet buddy, it is mainly about having a nice, sociable time together. On location, we have a duo bike, so cycling together is definitely possible! And extra fun: he also has his own bike, so you can go out in multiple ways. What will you do together?- Walking or cycling (familiar routes or trying something new together).- Creative activities- Going to village activities or small trips together.- Quiet, sociable contact moments with predictability. COC Friesland - Meeting & connection for 50+ LGBTQA+ peopleWithin COC Friesland, Rozee is the meeting group for LGBTQA+ people aged 50 and over. The group offers space for contact, recognition and sociability. As coordinator, you ensure that these meetings take place in a pleasant, safe and accessible atmosphere. You are the permanent point of contact for the participants and form the link between the group and the organisation.What you doYou organise and supervise monthly meetings. This starts with planning suitable dates and locations and coming up with activities that fit the group's needs. Sometimes that's an afternoon with a theme, a shared meal or just a relaxed meeting moment. You ensure that everyone feels welcome and that the meetings run smoothly, as well as being a warm point of contact for the participants. You keep an eye on what is going on within the group, identify needs or concerns and discuss these with the COC Friesland office manager if necessary. Together with the office manager, you make short messages for the newsletter, website or social media, so that new people know how to find the group and existing participants stay involved.

Hostess or host

In the good old days, supermarkets were small, cosy grocery stores where the cash register actually rang and groceries passed over the counter in paper cone bags. In the heart of Leeuwarden, such an authentic grocery shop still exists, housed in a seventeenth-century building. From Tuesday to Sunday, the Grutterswinkel comes back to life, with hostesses/gentlemen walking around to welcome the many visitors. Visitors can take a look inside the Grutterswinkel, buy products from the past and enjoy a piece of orange cake and/or real Fryske Dúmkes. For this museum with its busy coffee room, we are looking for hostesses and gentlemen for at least two half-days a month. The work includes catering and telling the story of Leeuwarden and the Grutterswinkel to our visitors. The visitors are mainly tourists.
