Red Cross District Fryslan

The Red Cross' mission is to alleviate human suffering, protect life and health and uphold human dignity, especially during armed conflicts and other crises. To make this happen, volunteers worldwide act according to the same seven fundamental principles: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntarism, unity and generality. All Red Cross volunteers and professionals work according to the 'do no harm' principle and have signed the Red Cross code of conduct. In the Netherlands, the Red Cross helps people who lack or risk lacking the basic necessities of life. These are food, water, shelter, being able to provide personal hygiene, having a dignified place of safety, having information about loved ones and having access to appropriate medical and psychosocial care.
